Dear Romanian or American Embassy Official,
We the animal rights activists from America and around the world are deeply concerned about the recently discovered illegal massacre of more than 1,000 wild horses native of the Danube Delta in Romania!
These horses are born in the wild, in the Letea oak forest of the Danube Delta, have no owner and are protected by European Union and international law. Yet, local Tulcea officials have grossly and illegally overstepped their authority in waging a blood bath war on these animals thereby enraging the international community. News of the corrupt and bloody acts against these wild horses has traveled across the world and spanned continents. Today we, the international community, stand together in demanding that the shocking assault on these horses be immediately addressed.
We salute the ROMANIAN AUTHORITIES and animal rights activists who stopped the illegal transport of these wild horses and condemned the local authorities from Tulcea who permitted this atrocity!
We demand that the investigation of the criminal acts against these indigenous horses continue until the corruption and illegal actions in Danube Delta are eradicated! We also demand that immediate measures be put in place to protect the Danube Delta wild horses from this point forward!

This is such a sad poem, I’m typing this with tears in my eyes knowing that this is what it must be like for these terrified horses. Man is so cruel and all for money. Sometimes I think I don’t want to be in this world with all the barbaric practices that occur on innocent sentient animals, it breaks my heart. Thank you for sharing this.

I am a romanian… a very unproud one about that sadical misery and mess committed in the Tulcea county against the wild horses. But you have to understand, that this IS NOT what likely I feel and think about that. There are many inhuman people there in this country (including politicians; maybe more than others), but judging all of them by same viewpoint (just because they’re “bloody” romanians) is a big mistake.
I’ve signed the petition, because I’m convinced that this will help the poor suffering horses to regain their deserved respect in our country’s fauna and also in the paneuropean context too. And when I share this concern with you I wouldn’t grab some cheap popularity from anyone. I just wanna say that there are also other kind of people there, not such barbarians only. In the other hand I wanna say, that occidental civilizations have also their criminals. Just take a look at some YouTube videos, before blaming me, or anyone else for sustaining this. But this doesn’t mean that we shall condamn the entire western cultures and peoples for this. That’s NOT their fault.

Romania are desperate to be accepted by EU. In that case they should behave like civilized people. Their record on animal cruelty is comparable to China. Wild Horses could bring them tourism, instead they behave like the monsters that they are. The photos break my heart.

I think this is horrible to do this to any animal but to be so cruel to this horse and many other horses is abuse and should be STOPPED. It makes me gasp to comprehend how humans can not have fear for what they are doing. The governments need to put a ban on this as inhumane to horses and punishable with horrific fines and jail time. Shortly (from that article): those horses are not wild, but have owners; they (the horses) live somewhat freely on fields around one specific village (i.e., they are not in stables); those in pictures, who revolted the “animal lovers” (couldn’t be men haters, I wonder …), are owned by some local villagers who decided to get rid of them; so, as written in applicable laws and statutes, the horses were gathered to be first checked for illness, especially of contagious kind, and then send to a slaughterhouse; some of them were discoverd sick, eventually; of course there had been some rough handling which isn’t honourable for a country in European Union (here is room for improvements) …
Those who say “bastards”, “may them rot in hell” should bear in mind that by doing this, they are showing that put their fellow man below some animals, however noble they may be.

Its pretty sad what the world is coming to. The horse has always been in our history running wild and free. Now they are being ripped from their land and killed cruelly. Why do people have to be so cruel. What have the horses really done wrong to them. I know that the land is getting scarce with food, but there are people around the world that would freely give money to people to fly in food. They are called wild Horses for a reason. They are the true meaning of beauty, they are one of the only reasons that humans have moved on in life and produced what life we have now. We should all be really thankful that there was and are horses in the world. The horse has never done anything wrong, they are in the world to provide companionship, and beauty. It hurts to watch the videos and to see the pictures of people abusing horses and killing them. And yet there are people standing around and watching it all happen and do nothing to help the horses. Every single one of those bastards should be caught and put through the abuse that they show the horses.
I fully stand behind the horses and think that they should be turned free and left human free. The horses do not deserve this kind of attention.

They give their owners so much, but when they are of no more use they are slaughtered in the most cruel way….We at the Canadian Voice for Animals have rescued so many abused animals is such terrible shape some only last for a few days to weeks….
I find it interesting that the originators of this petition identify themselves as “animal rights activists”, considering that one of the tent poles of the “animal rights” movement is the total elimination of all “breathing GMOs” (i.e. – any animal which has ever been domesticated). I can’t help but assume that the AR movement’s problem with this massacre is that they weren’t the ones to originate it.
JUst remember God is the final judge. All those involved will have to face him one day.
